This document provides instructions for filing paperwork to ask the court to issue a Contempt Citation. It explains the steps needed to file the forms, pay fees, and serve the necessary documents on the person who owes money.

This is used when a person believes another party has failed to follow a court order, such as failing to answer written questions (interrogatories) or failing to pay money that was awarded by the court.

Either party may file.

Common questions

What is a Judgment Debtor?
The Judgment Debtor is the person or entity who owes the money that the court ordered. The Judgment Creditor is the person who should receive the money.
What fees are involved?
There is a fee for the Contempt Citation, and there are separate fees for making copies of documents.
What must happen before the hearing?
The Judgment Debtor must be personally served with certain forms at least 21 days before the hearing date.
